Stavelot Masterclasses 2026

Open to everyone, whether you are a member* of I Cambristi or not.
This workshop is open to existing groups (min. 3): string players, woodwind players, pianists, beginners or advanced players, amateurs, students, young professionals... everyone is welcome!

If you are on your own, don't hesitate to call or email other musicians! The list can be found on our website – once you have paid your membership fee! As a last resort, you can write to us.

Please note: from 2026 onwards, the masterclasses will take place every two years instead of annually. We look forward to seeing you in 2026, 2028, 2030...

Master Classes Programme

Course period
From Friday 14 to Sunday 16 August 2026.
Reception will take place at the Collège from 9 a.m. onwards, and lessons will be held between 9.30 a.m. and 5.15 p.m., with two coffee breaks and a lunch break.
Masterclasses
We focus strictly on the study of chamber music literature.
​
There will be five 1.5-hour lessons and one coached rehearsal session on Sunday afternoon to prepare participants for the public recital.
Play In
Thursday, 13 August 2026
There will be no opening concert at the Masterclasses this year.
Instead, we invite those who wish to rehearse on site on Thursday afternoon (no classes) to continue the evening with a Play In and a potluck dinner.

The mission of ACMP is to stimulate and expand the playing of chamber music for pleasure among musicians worldwide, of all backgrounds, ages and skill levels, by connecting people and supporting chamber music activities for individuals, groups and institutions.

Saturday 15 August: concert during the Stavelot Festival

For your information, the Zemlinsky Quartet will perform Enesco's octet with the excellent Benewitz Quartet, also from Prague.
​
It's going to be quite an event! You can reserve your seats on the website. www.festivaldestavelot.be, as from 1 June 2026.

the opportunity to rehearse in your own classroom at the College on Thursday 14 August, from 2pm to 5pm.

five 1.5-hour lessons

coffee, tea and soft drinks during coffee breaks

three lunches on Friday, Saturday and Sunday

a drink at the Abbey (date to be confirmed)

the audition in the Abbey hall, with its exceptional acoustics (on a very good Sibret concert piano).

You will need to bring your own desk.

We sometimes use disposable tableware, so we invite you to bring your own mugs.

As the organisers are providing catering with meat, fish and vegetarian options, any participants with other allergies or intolerances should bring their own meals with them.

Registration is by group and not individually.
The group registers online by filling in the form here
Participants who are not already identified on this site must log in and register (see FAQ). If they do not wish to become members of I Cambristi, they register as participants and do not pay the membership fee.
This step is necessary in order to obtain the contact details of the trainees and their instrument for any subsequent contact and to be able to register them in their respective group.
